Belvedere Junior is a co-educational school which opened in August 1973 catering for children between the ages of 7 and 10 years.
From September, 2006 classes will be taught in nine classrooms (eight inside the main building and one in a “mobile” classroom). In addition to these classrooms we have an ICT suite, containing computers, with curriculum software and with connections to the internet. This suite is used by all classes on a rota basis. A further room in the main building will be used for withdrawal groups and special needs teaching.
There is a well stocked school library, a hall with stage, lighting and P.E. equipment and a separate dining room. School meals are prepared on the premises, with some children preferring to bring packed lunches for dinnertime.
The school grounds are extensive, with areas used to complement classroom lessons, school gardens and wildlife areas. There is an adventure trail, seats, tables and “quiet areas" for children to sit if they prefer not to join the playtime and dinnertime games.
